{"id":41259,"date":"2025-01-30T09:17:17","date_gmt":"2025-01-30T09:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europeanfilmawards.eu\/?page_id=41259"},"modified":"2025-06-03T13:02:34","modified_gmt":"2025-06-03T13:02:34","slug":"feature-films","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.europeanfilmawards.eu\/regulations\/feature-films\/","title":{"rendered":"4 FEATURE FILMS"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"41259\" class=\"elementor elementor-41259\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ba6e471 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"ba6e471\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-50752d3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"50752d3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Eligibility<\/h4><p>4.1<br \/>Eligible are European feature-length fiction films intended for theatrical release which meet the general eligibility criteria (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.europeanfilmawards.eu\/eligibility\/\">see 3<\/a>).<\/p><p>4.2<br \/>Furthermore, feature films must fulfil <strong>at least<\/strong> <strong>one<\/strong> of the following criteria to be eligible:<\/p><ul><li>Having been selected at least at one major festival (see list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europeanfilmawards.eu\/feature-films-list-of-festivals\/\">festivals<\/a>)<\/li><li>Having been theatrically released in at least three countries for at least seven consecutive days or sold for such release<\/li><\/ul><p>The Academy Board has the right to refrain from this rule in exceptional cases.<br \/>Selection<\/p><p>4.3<br \/>The Academy Board and a group of experts appointed by the board choose 35 &#8211; 45 films for the EUROPEAN FILM AWARDS FEATURE FILM SELECTION proposed to the Academy Members to be considered for a nomination.<\/p><p>4.4<br \/>These films are announced to the Academy members internally and are made available for viewing to the Academy Members in three parts (first part in June, second part in September and third part in October) with the complete selection to be announced to the public in October.<\/p><h4>Nominations<\/h4><p>4.5<br \/>There are five nominations in each of the following categories:<\/p><ul><li>EUROPEAN FILM<\/li><li>EUROPEAN DIRECTOR<\/li><li>EUROPEAN ACTRESS<\/li><li>EUROPEAN ACTOR<\/li><li>EUROPEAN SCREENWRITER<\/li><\/ul><p>Based on the EUROPEAN FILM AWARDS FEATURE FILM SELECTION three to four of the nominations in each of the above categories are voted for by the Academy Members. The Academy Board can add up to two nominations in each category. The board\u2019s nominations need to be agreed on by the majority of the board members present at the nomination meeting. The board\u2019s nominations may also be chosen from films nominated as EUROPEAN DISCOVERY \u2013 Prix FIPRESCI.
