{"id":41411,"date":"2025-01-30T09:16:31","date_gmt":"2025-01-30T09:16:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europeanfilmawards.eu\/?page_id=41411"},"modified":"2025-07-17T09:08:15","modified_gmt":"2025-07-17T09:08:15","slug":"general-procedure-conditions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.europeanfilmawards.eu\/general-procedure-conditions\/","title":{"rendered":"2 GENERAL PROCEDURE &amp; CONDITIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"41411\" class=\"elementor elementor-41411\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6012374 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"6012374\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3fec49e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3fec49e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>2.1<br \/>Films can be proposed for the European Film Awards by European film institutions, festivals, trade magazines, members of the European Film Academy, Academy Patrons and rightsholders of European films.<\/p><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); text-align: var(--text-align); font-size: 1rem;\">2.2<\/span><\/div><\/div><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div class=\"text\">For the selection and awarding procedures films must be submitted by their rightsholders and made available for viewing to the respective viewing groups and committees.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div class=\"number\">2.3<\/div><div class=\"text\"><p>Depending on the date of the first official screening of a film (be it at a festival or at a regular cinema) there shall be <strong>three submission periods:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>for films which premiered between 1 June 2024 and 31 March 2025<br \/><strong> submission deadline: 31 March 2025<\/strong><\/li><li>for films which premiered between 1 April and 31 July 2025<br \/><strong> submission deadline: 31 July 2025<\/strong><\/li><li>for films which premiered between 1 August and 30 September 2025<br \/><strong> submission deadline: 15 September 2025<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div>\u00a0<\/div><div class=\"number\">2.4<\/div><div class=\"text\">The submitted version has to be the original language version with English subtitles (for accessibility reasons this is also mandatory for English-language films, further subtitles may be added additionally).<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div class=\"number\">2.5<\/div><div class=\"text\">The submission fee amounts to EUR 90 (subject to VAT) per film (in each submission phase an early bird discounted rate of EUR 75 is available). The fee will be charged by the European Film Academy. Should a film be selected or nominated, an entry fee of EUR 800 (subject to VAT) per film applies (both fees do not apply for the short film category).<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div class=\"number\">2.6<\/div><div class=\"text\">The entry of a film for the European Film Awards implies the unconditional acceptance of the regulations for the European Film Awards and the consent to submit and to make the film available on the European Film Academy\u2019s submission and viewing platforms for committees and &#8211; once selected or nominated &#8211; for the Academy members under the provided conditions (including the payment of the corresponding fee, if applicable).<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div class=\"number\">2.7<\/div><div class=\"text\">Producers\/distributors of films that are selected and\/or receive a nomination and\/or an award in any category agree to use the corresponding artwork of the selection, nomination or the award in all future promotion campaigns, for example, on posters and other promotional material, in magazine, newspaper and internet advertising, social media and film trailers etc.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div class=\"number\">2.8<\/div><div class=\"text\">The nominations are announced about eight weeks prior to the European Film Awards ceremony and are made available for viewing to the Academy Members who vote for the winners (this does not apply for the categories EUROPEAN YOUNG AUDIENCE AWARD and LUX AUDIENCE AWARD, where the winners are selected by other committees; as well as the honorary awards).<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div class=\"number\">2.9<\/div><div class=\"text\">Each nominee receives a certificate and is invited to attend the European Film Awards ceremony.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div class=\"number\">2.10<\/div><div class=\"text\">The Academy members\u2019 votes for the winners are kept by a notary or an auditor (for voting for the EUROPEAN YOUNG AUDIENCE AWARD <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europeanfilmawards.eu\/regulations\/european-young-audience-award\/\">see 13<\/a>).<\/div><\/div><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div>\u00a0<\/div><div class=\"number\">2.11<\/div><div class=\"text\">The winners are announced during the European Film Awards ceremony (this does not apply for the categories LUX AUDIENCE AWARD as well as for the honorary awards).<\/div><\/div><div class=\"numbered-section\"><div>\u00a0<\/div><div class=\"number\">2.12<\/div><div class=\"text\"><p>Each award winner receives a certificate and a statuette (limited to one per category), with the exception of EUROPEAN FILM for which there shall be two statuettes (one for the director and one for the main producer).
